Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. She's recorded a variety of well-known songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that are widely loved. The singer gained further attention through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden in the attic of her home, and being captivated by the sounds it produced. Her parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but for growth. For this reason she wrote her first original compositions. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork as being her influences. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote could be used to not be famous for her, however, but to encourage people to see their own value and impact to the world, she began singing them in public. As a young girl She began playing the piano. At age nine, she began writing her own songs. It was not until she turned 14 that she revealed her plans to her parents. It was never a dream to become Aurora. The only thing she loves is writing songs. For her, the songs she creates are her way of feeling anything.
